While Gays and Lesbians marched on Washington and around the country in organized protest and action against the Defense of Marriage Act, President Bush was in Norfolk, Virginia giving his Dad an, "I'm going to be getting kicked out of the Executive Mansion soon" gift. 
President Bush had the US Navy name the CVN 77 in honour of his Father President George H. W. Bush in a ceremony today. The other record of note is that this is the first time a namesake of a Warship was present during the Commissioning and Launch. The ship will begin its service to our Country sometime in 2010. The U.S. Naval Carrier Vessel 77, a Nimitz class Aircraft Carrier is has a dual Nuclear reactor that wont need to be refueled for 20 years and will serve this Country for the next 50 years. The GHWB can house up to 6,000 United States Service Members and 80 combat aircraft. Its breadth is 1092 ft long (comparable with the length of The Empire State Building), a 4.5 acre landing field, and a tower that exceeds 20 stories above the water line, it weighs in with over 47 thousand tons of steel and 1 million pounds of aluminum. The GHWB will be the tenth and final Nimitz class Carrier produced by the United States.
Talk about an impressive monument to a failed legacy. "See Dad, I even named a ship after us." In all honesty, this honour, for President Bush I, is something he truly does deserve. In 1943, he became the youngest naval aviator at that pointe our Country's history and he followed that dedicated sacrifice of 58 missions, by going to college and then serving in Congress and as the CIA Director back in the 1970s, eventually becoming Commander In Chief as our 41st President. It is just the timing and the fact that they didn't wait until he passed away, that makes it suspicious and flawed historically.
Wait! There were marches? There were protest? Where?
Well there was suppose to be a nationwide protest against the Defense of Marriage Act, but the latest dusting of the white stuff combined with a general lack of interest and organization locally, meant that once again Queers in northeast Indiana didn't participate unless they went to a larger City, or did something in smaller groups. Yet another failure to organize the local Queer Community has happened in the Summit City.
Later on this month there are two other days of action. On the 27th they are holding an Equality On Campus Rally and of course Dont Ask Dont Tell turns 16 years old two days later. Let's hope and pray that President Obama and the 11th Congress bend both DADT and DOMA across the mast of U.S.S. GHWB, CVN 77 and spank them both like the disgraced stepchildren to American law and Civil Society that they are!

First Post of the Green Year! Let's Have A Quickie? A Quick Political Review That Is.....
Well it has been an interesting two weeks, while I was finishing my 33rd birthday post last Monday evening, my computer decided to take a nose dive into flames and burned itself internally. Talk about trying to blow out a candle, I am not sure yet what caused it, but it died a horrible, painfully agonizing, death. Wait a minute, I thought I was the one experiencing the pain and the agony of loosing.....F6 Command and Operations has been repaired, all records were backed up, and we are burning the plasma injectors out but still able to achieve basic warp capability. Even though my temporary 20 gig hard drive feels more like a Battle Bridge on a class three Frigate than the 160 gig Luxury Sovereign Class Battle Cruiser hard drive I had previously, gratitude more profound than words can describe go to my brother, CASPIAN GREYWULF. He spent days on end, in dry dock, salvaging what was left of my mainframe and slaving over hot processors to get a used hard drive to work for me temporarily. Thanks also go out to Mark and Topher, for letting me interrupt their New Years Eve, to ring it in with all of you throughout the blogosphere; and remind you too, recycle your Christmas Trees, but keep the tinsel please.
Talking about getting burned and watching your life go up in flames.....
The truce between Hamas and Israel ended over the last week as well. Zionist are on the defensive and Leaders from Hamas have gone into hiding and civilians are now running from white phosphorus bomb attacks by the nation of Israel, who are labelling the civilian casualties as unfortunate and then writing them off as collateral damage. In the recent Military force response this week, they used the condemned weapons, on a key leader of Hamas, Proffesor Nizar Rayan's, family dwelling - which is a violation of the Geneva Conventions, but they did not sign on to - and raised the civilian death total to 15 Hamas, 5 Israelis, according to the latest reports availble to me.

What was that I said a while back about revenge in the name of religion over Sovereign peoples, oh well, I digress.
But guess what, the United States also used WPBs during Operation Iraqi Freedom, in 2004, during the offensive in Fallujah and denied such until November of 2005. So it looks like when all is said and done there will be even more war crimes for President Bush, who will probably get away Scot free. Thank God/dess he is finally ending his eight years of divisiveness and hatred in America.
On the home front, stormy waters are ahead for the inauguration in twenty days.
Besides the ongoing scandal of the Governor of Illinois trying to sell off a Senate seat to the highest bidder, getting stopped in the process by the FBI, and then everyone in Chicago's political machine running for cover, including sitting Federal Representatives. The Governor decided to thumb his nose at the Legislature and the Courts and use his Constitutional power anyway. He appointed Roland Burris, a 71 year old, former Illinois three term Comptroller and one term Attorney General, to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Obama's selection as our next President. Which has now forced Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, to noticeably consider eating his words about standing squarely against any tainted appointment, with possible pressure by "Black Leaders/Community" as this man would be the only Black member of the Senate.
In other news, Governor Bill "sorry but I was confused by the question" Richardson of New Mexico has stepped down from his nomination as Commerce Secretary, in the incoming administration, due to a scandal brewing in his state regarding the distribution of government bonds.
How was that for a quickie, eer, quick review?

The 4th of July, 1776 - The Declaration of Independence: We still havent been reading OUR LIBERTY its rights!
Obviously this is going to be a gratuitous male flesh, eer, cute bois in underwear post, since it is a holiday. And of course we need to pay homage to our Armed Service Members whom every day sacrifice their lives for our freedom. After all, when was the last time you pledged your life, fortunes and sacred honour, for an ideal as simple and as dificultly complex as liberty? With all jesting and drooling aside, let us seriously review these one thousand unanimous words that founded our freedom folks.
When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We Hold These Truths To Be Self Evident:
That all men are created equal....
That they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights....
That among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness....
That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed....
That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness....
That is five separate truths that we as Americans have a tendency to forgo for security; or obliterate based on civil societies assumption of "what is morally right", or at least in the moment - plausible defensible. It is time for us as a Country to return to these founding principles of our nation and hold ourselves and our current leadership to this organic law of the land (ip 4), and these standards and vote them out of office, while we still have the ability to do so.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
Our founding fathers listed twenty eight grievances in general terms against the British Crown and Parliament, and then stated, "A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people." How many of these acts are our current government affecting on to the average citizen today?
Refused Assent To Laws, Interfered with the State passing laws through use of Federal Statutes (eg Medical Marajuana), (not quite the same as judges) but he removed without cause ninety plus Federal District Attorneys for political gains and to stifle on going prosecutions of big business, He established or erected a multitude of New Offices (Homeland Security), and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people,
On a side note the rest of that last grievance reads: "and eat out their substance." to which my mental cartoon trips an image of Uncle Sam asking if, "Anybody", in effect, "wants a rim job?", yucky-lol. Anyway I digress, back to the list. Here are some really big ones that have hit the press junkets in the recent three months:
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power, He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation, For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States, For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent, For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury, For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses.
With the addition of the illegal (now immune) wire tapping scandal, that brings a total to twelve out of twenty eight grievances listed in the DOI that the current administration of our government has similarly assailed the Citizens and People of this Country with. It is time for a change and not just from Republican to Democrat, but to a multiple party plank, like it used to be in this Country. When President Abraham Lincoln ran for office there were four different candidates each from different parties. If we were able to do it almost a hundred and fifty years ago, we can do it again!
Now is the perfect time for the LIBERTARIAN PARTY, a party of principles, and a party that's values are liberty from large obtrusive government and is for individual freedom!
We have a wonderful candidate for President and Vice President, whom I may not agree with on everything, but dammit these gentlemen are a better choice then the same old Washington stoned to the hilt former maverick has been and the newcomer that has no business being in the U.S. Senate let alone the White House. If you would just accept your responsibility, YOUR DUTY, to make a clear and conscious vote for the best person and still instead vote for the lesser of two evils, you will have only yourself to blame when the Country gets flushed down the toilet with the Constitution leading the flow right behind Uncle Sam's touche.
As a Gay American and a local Religious Leader, if former Congress member Bob Barr of Georgia is truthfully willing to meet my people half way, then I will do the same. That is the least I can ask from a candidate compared to the the other two saps on the political stump who aren't even willing to keep their answers, to my Community members' questions, straight.

Lt. Governor of California skims across State's Rights issue
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Is the federal government doing what it has to do here?
JOHN GARAMENDI: Well, they’re doing a lot and we appreciate what they have done thus far. Resources are coming in. The U.S. Forest Service, 70 units from Arizona and Nevada and all that’s good. I got some doubt about the value of President Bush coming out here . .
MATTHEWS: Do you think it’s public relations rather than action?
GARAMENDI: Of course it’s public relations. The action’s taking place by the hard-working firefighters, the men and women and the police that are out there on the line and the community that’s pulling together to support each other, that’s where the action is taking place. I know—okay, President Bush comes out, we’ll be polite. But frankly, that’s not the solution. How about sending our National Guard back from Iraq? So that we have those people available here to help us?
