There is a presence in the city gone for now that is even more well known then her place of residence or as others put it stalking grounds in a temporal existence. There are many a youth and young adult who have encountered the fluffy specter off Wells and and Fourth in an unusual way. Whether she trips you or misguides you through the stacks of Hyde Bros. Book Company she always finds for you the right book at the right time. I am talking about none other than Smashface the Persian Himalayan that has graced the shelves and counter of the establishment for years.
When I was looking for a used Sacramentary, the book that is used to celebrate Mass, it was Smashface that helped me find it -1972 second edition in mint condition- and with my clergy discount it only cost me $60 dollars. When you were looking for just whatever, with no intention just browsing, Smashface would usually be right behind you or coming at you through the other side of the stacks. Smashface will dearly be missed.
